Law Enforcement Inspections and Audit Training Luncheon

Training Objectives/Description:         4 hours Arizona POST Continuing Training Credit
This training will provide you with inspections and audit related training to enhance your skills and improve your effectiveness while adding value to your position and your organization.

Training topics / presenters:*

  • Social Media in Law Enforcement
    81% of law enforcement professionals surveyed said they use social media sites on the job. 52%of the agencies surveyed lack procedures governing social media use. These issues and other challenges associated with social media will be discussed in this session.

  • Law Enforcement Interaction with Mentally Challenged Individuals
    This is one of the more critical issues in law enforcement today, and is frequently an issue in DOJ investigations.

  • Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office
    Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office response to Melendres decision, class action civil rights suit, & court oversight.
    Presenter: Lt. Phil Fortner, Maricopa County SO
  • Analysis of Officer Involved Shootings/UOF
    Presenters will share their research into this proactive approach to this critical topic in law enforcement today.
    Presenters: Lt. Mike Giammarino, Sgt. Darren Wunderle, Phoenix PD

These sessions are for Law Enforcement Professionals only (sworn and non-sworn)
* Responsible for business related-controls, administration, compliance, and quality assurance activities.
* Interested in inspections and auditing.

It is recommended that participants bring a laptop with an ac power cord and Adobe Reader software. The presentation material will be available via Internet WiFi Internet in the classroom, no presentation handouts will be provided.
